What we store

Your draft, theme and filters stay in your browser. A share link carries the whole list in the URL, so anyone you send it to can read it. Using the finder, sending feedback, signing in, publishing, reviewing or contributing to community stats sends the relevant information to MouseRank.

Accounts

Discord sign-in gives us your Discord ID, username, avatar and email. Better Auth keeps account and session records in a Cloudflare D1 database; login records also hold your IP address and user agent. Discord has its own policy.

Public content

Published lists, profiles and reviews are public and may be indexed. A profile shows the fields you fill in, including owned and wanted mice, never your email or IDs. Reviews may include optional grip, hand length and games. Poll totals are public; your selected vote is available to you when signed in. Public writing passes a slur and profanity filter; bios and reviews may not contain links. An admin can hide a review or suspend a profile; both go to the audit log.

Community stats

On by default for your personal tier list; a saved opt-out stays off. Community stats receive catalog mouse IDs and their row positions, not your list title, profile or custom mice. Shared and saved lists require an explicit choice before contributing. A random contribution ID and a device token let later edits replace the snapshot; the server keeps only a hash of the token. Untick to withdraw them, before clearing browser storage.

Mouse tools and comparisons

Polling, click tests, comparison selections and hand references run in your browser; their results are not uploaded or saved to your account.

The mouse finder

The quiz runs in your browser: it filters catalog specifications and sends nothing to MouseRank or any provider. The chat needs a Discord sign-in and always uses AI: your question and up to six previous questions go to OpenRouter, so leave personal details out. Each request carries at most 4 KB of recent context. We save submitted questions, chatbot answers, matched mouse IDs, interpreted filters, AI or filter mode, thumbs-up/down feedback and timestamps for administrators to review and improve the finder. Signed-in conversations are associated with your account; guest conversations have a random access token. Chats are private to site administrators, are not public profiles or automatic model training, and are retained until deleted. Deleting your account deletes its associated chats. You can request deletion of guest chats through the contact below. Interpreted filters and answers may be cached for up to six hours; numeric evidence snippets can include parts of your question. Hashed account and network identifiers enforce usage limits. Matches and prices come from the catalog, not from boardzy’s picks or live offers.

Guest ratings

You can rate a mouse without signing in. When you submit a rating, an essential first-party cookie remembers this browser for up to one year so you can change or remove your rating. We store its hash, the mouse, rating, timestamps and approximate country. Administrators can review rating changes and hide abuse. Network-based limits help reduce repeat voting; this does not identify unique people. Written reviews require sign-in. Ratings and their change history stay until removed by an administrator or, for member ratings, the account is deleted.

Usage statistics

We keep basic usage statistics to see which pages, mice and shops people actually use: public page views, product details opened and store-link clicks, with the page, the mouse, the shop, where on the site it happened, approximate country and a timestamp. There are no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics; the data goes to MouseRank only.

Outside the EU, EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland these statistics are on by default. A notice on your first visit lets you reject them, and Privacy settings in the footer changes the choice at any time. In the EU, EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland nothing is recorded until you choose Allow analytics. We honour Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track everywhere, and a saved choice always wins over the default.

A random first-party cookie groups events into a browsing session that expires after 30 minutes without activity or four hours in total; the server stores only a hash of it. When you are signed in, new activity is linked to your account and administrators can see your account name alongside the products and stores you interact with. Signing in or out starts a separate session; past guest sessions are not retroactively linked to your account.

These reports measure browsing sessions and clicks, not unique people, completed purchases or revenue. Analytics stores no raw IP address, fingerprint, full referral URL, search query or shared-list contents. Private account, profile, shared-list and administrator pages are excluded. Reports cover at most 90 days; older events and inactive session records are periodically deleted.

Rejecting or turning statistics off stops future events, clears the analytics session cookie and deletes events for the current session when the request reaches the server. Earlier sessions remain until retention cleanup; deleting your account deletes its associated analytics sessions and events. A first-party cookie stores your choice for six months. Ratings work independently of statistics.

Affiliate links and shopping

Some product links earn boardzy a commission. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Clicking a store link takes you to that store, where its privacy policy and cookies apply. Prices, stock, shipping and returns are set by the store. MouseRank records shopping clicks only with optional analytics consent; it does not receive your checkout or payment details.

Cookies and hosting

Better Auth uses session cookies for sign-in. Three first-party cookies serve the choices above: a guest-rating token, your usage-statistics choice, and the short-lived statistics session. Cloudflare hosts the site. Product links may be affiliate links, which hand you to that shop and its cookies.

Your choices

Your account page can unpublish or delete a list, delete a review, remove your profile, or delete the account with its lists, reviews, sessions and tokens.
